"Why don 't you use visuals with Come Children, Sing?"
Music is an aural art. Visuals get in the way of the very skills we are trying to develop. We are so accustomed to being bombarded with visuals that we question why anyone wouldn’t use visual images. We know that visuals can grab our attention and make things “more interesting.” The fact that visuals grab our attention is precisely why Come Children, Sing! does not use them. Meter and Tonality capture your child’s attention and focus it on the rhythmic and melodic journey that is music. Visual images interrupt that aural focus. Just as words to songs draw a child to the words rather than to the music, so do visuals draw a child to the images rather than to the aural.
Perhaps you are questioning why there are no videos to show you “how to” engage in Come Children, Sing! with your little one.
